I have had a metal roof installed on an old house at the Lake of the Ozarks and now want to install a couple of attic vents. My question is what type would you recommend and is there a type that is specifically designed for metal roofs? Also any sugestions on soffit venting?

I would look to remove the ridge cap and install a vented mesh under and reinstall. For attics you will need to cut the ridge deck out. A universal type is called Versa Vent by Atlas Bolt. As to the soffit, we would need too much info to properly advise. make sure you balance it 50/50 with the ridge.

I am sorry I should have given you more information my ridge line is only 4' long and it is over a false roof in the attic that restricts the circulation of air flow. I was thinking if I could find a ventilator that has the style material like a plumbing flashing (flexible with metal bendable ring) I would use that style and insatll one or more on each side. But I cannot seem to find a style like that. All I find are for typical shingle roofs. Thank you for your help!

Still not enough. What is a false roof? Do you mean that you are in a storey and a half home where the lower section is vaulted and the ceiling is on the rafters. Then the upper section has an attic?
