IS IT OK TO WALK ON 29 GAUGE METAL ROOFING DURING INSTALLATION

i have a 12x60 trailer in upstate new york, it is about 30 years old. i want to build the metal roof up off the exsisting roof using 2x4's. would you suggest putting plywood on top of th 2x4's or can i put the metal roof right onto the 2x4's. the roof rafters are 2x6's. am i wasting my time using 2x4's can the metal be put right onto the roof? also do you know of a dealer that sells metal roofing in the delaware county new yor area?

Have you tried the Find A Contractor section of this website. Many metal roofs require at least a 3:12 pitch. Some metal roofs can be installed over battens provided the space beneath is well vented. Todd Miller
