I would like to know the tech. name for these, the purpose they serve and if cutting off the ends that have started to pull away from the sheet would take away from the structural strength or integrity? These straps are located along the horizontal seams and have the same profile as the roof. They are not conected to each other but rather stop just at the top of the major rib and are held in place by screws. Can you send me a picture? This sounds like a hand-formed standing seam system ... depending upon how they are done, some of them have exposed clips.
