Carport extension off gable roof | Ask The Experts Forum

Guest User 7/27/2006	I have a 20x50 shop with a 6:12 pitch metal (Champion "Hi-Rib") gable roof. I've cut the overhang of the existing roof flush with the wall and am in the process of adding 1/4:12 pitch roof out to make a big carport, actually an "RV" port, the entire length of the building. My concern is how to make a rain and snow tight transition between the existing roof and the new roof (obviously a more sophisticated roof will be required on the addition due to the low slope). Todd Miller Isaiah Industries, Inc. 7/27/2006	You need to, for the major thing, have a flashing that goes under the top roof and comes out on top of the lower roof.
