I WONT TO INSTALL A METAL ROOF ON FIBERGLASS ,WILL I NEED FELT PAPER UNDER THE METAL?

Yes. Check with the manufacturer of the metal roofing to see what they require. You will probably need either 30-pound felt with red rosin paper on it or one of the new synthetic underlayments. Todd Miller

we had a metal architectural roof put on and there was no boards strips put down ?? the guy who did the first job and butchered our roof had them in place is this a MUST or a good practice to put them down or?

It is really a function of the product system design, so you need to contact the manufacturer of the product used on your home on this.
