Denting on installation

While the contractor was installing the vertical metal roof, his assistant stepped on the roof (not on the wood strips) in multiple places causing dents to form. Is there any way to remove them. The paint is not damaged but it does not look good/professional. Was told by contracter there was nothing he could do. His boss is coming to inspect the damage tomorrow. Is there any other problems that can pop up later because of the damage. I would really prefer to have the panels replaced.

First, I would ask whether this is indeed a metal roof that can be installed on battens. Perhaps that was the issue. I would contact the manufacturer of the roofing and get their input. What you are seeing may also be oilcanning causes by some other stress rather than indentation from walking. Todd Miller
