We are building a new home next spring and our contractor has advised us against going with a metal roof stating it would fade over years and become spotty. I am wondering if this is true and based on your experience is this a valid argument

Metal roofing, like anything, come sin a wide variety of styles. Included in that is a wide variety of qualities. There are products with significant fade and chalk warranties which help to encure long term beauty and durability. Hey Ray, Sounds to me like your contractor doesnt know how to do a metal roof, and is only looking to provide you with a roof he can install. there are many metal roofs that have great warrantees, and even roofing systems made of a mill finish, which will lose some of its shine, but look good anyways. There are many reasons to consider a metal roof, while the only one I can think of for a shingle roof is cost. On metal I can provide the following, lifespan! Chances are if you get a metal roof and it is properly done, you wont live long enough to replace it. HAIL, and hurricanes do considerably less damage to the roof. METAL ROOFS are much more fireproof. it is something every home should have, but most will never, because of uninformed contractors. You can email me [email protected] for other information.
