It depends upon the exact profile. Generally it is overlapped by one set of corrugations on the type of roofing I believe you are talking about. Absolutely under no circumstances should you proceed with the installation unless you have full detailed instructions from the manufacturer and know that you're following them exactly. Does your roof have the right pitch for the product? Are you using the right underlayment? Do you have adequate attic ventilation? Do you have the right substrate to install over? Do you know where the fasteners go and how far apart they are to be spaced? Do you know what warranty your roofing has, and who it's from? Are you using the right fasteners? Are there special installation steps to be taken in your geographic area due to ice or snow or wind? Todd Miller

Is there a specific virtical panel "type" that I need to inquire about since my pitch is about 2/12? I have tried to locate this info on various manufacturers sites but have not yet found it. Can you suggest any?

At 2:12 or lower, you really should have a mechanically seamed standing seam panel. The metal panels are put on the roof and a separate crimping machine is run down the seams to seal them off. Todd Miller
