It was suggested to me that galvalume is a better product than galvanized when considering unpainted steel roofing.
Specifically, galvalume is more resistant to rusting, and remains shiny longer ( therfore reflects heat& sunlight better).
I this true?
Also it was suggested that galvanized and galvalume are incompatable?
Thanks

Both galvalume and galvanized have similar test data and track records. Galvalume may be a bit better for moderate environments. Galvanized perhaps better for real harsh environments or for heavily formed roof panels.
Both products will be made better by having a quality paint finish on them.
Light colors will be reflective but there are also now dark colors with reflective pigment.
I believe that the two metals are compatible.
