Hello Experts- We live in Florida and are building a lake house in north Texas. We wanted a Florida look and used bare metal vertical panels. Our neighbors are furious with the metal roof as the sun in reflecting into their window and their deck from around 2 pm to 5 pm. The part that is doing this is about a 12 by 12 foot area that is not covered by trees. Will the roof oxidize and get dull? There's not one shiny metal roof that I have seen in the whole county here in Fl. There are hundreds of metal roofs in Brevard County and I'm beginning to think my builder used the wrong material. Can you give me some advice? Thanks These neighbors even have a silver metal roof on their dock. Thank you!

Yes the surface will dull over the next few years It probably is Galvalume with a light acrylic protection coat on that stops fingerprinting during handling and takes about a year to go away. You could try contacting the Galvalume association which I believe is called Namzac or AISI and ask their advice on how to pre dull it. Regardless it should go away in about a year.
