I'm trying to find a ridge vent designed for a roof that ends into a side wall (shed roof of single story side room off 2 story structure). Is this something some company offers or do you know some source that would know? Thank you for you help.

I have trouble with snow and ice coming off too fast. I've been told there is a product to add to roof to slow or stop this problem, but I/ve been told to use self adhesive. Can you help me? [email protected]

A ventilation detail can be created today with off the shelf type items. First you need to ensure that the metal stops short of the wall by about 1". Then you can purchase a vented ridge closure strip from some of the specialty companies that fits your profile and then install your wall flashing over. If you can't find one to fit then purchase a roll of flat mesh as manufactured by GAF and cut your own. Hope this helps.

There are a number of products designed to fit the varied number of metal roofing profiles today anbd it is difficult to recommend a certain type without understanding what type of product you have and the pitch and rafter length that is feeding the snow. If you do not design the guard correctly it will tear up your roofing. I recommend that you contact the manufacturer and ask for their recommendation. If this is not an option, then I would talk to a contractor with experience in your area and get his recommendation.
