rusting corrugated metal

we have new construction with corrugated metal around the bottom of the house and I want to make it look old and rusted. How do I go about this procedure. thanks

As soon as you start the rust process, that starts the march toward eventual product failure. There are many painted products which have a rusty color. I would consider them above other options. I do not have any real good ideas on how to create your own rusted surface. You can start with mill finish galvanized or clear coated galvalume and try to create a corrosive environment to weather it in. You may also find some chemicals on the internet. I am not by any stretch of the imagination "advocating" these folks but there is a company called Reclametals that sells a pre-rusted product. Todd Miller
