I am planning on adding a carport roof to the side of my house. I want it simple, just rafters and metal roofing. It needs to be 16' wide without any center support. I am concerned that wooden rafters will warp. Does anyone make an aluminum or other type of rafter that shouldn't warp?

Certainly snow load is an issue and yes galvanized steel rafters are readily available. Check what the building code calls for on loading and a supplier should be able to provide the right size and exact length. Typically most drywall supply places handle them.
