I need some information regarding the damage soot can cause to a metal roof after fire broke out beneath it. The roof consists of corrogated Chromodeck (does anyone know what chromodeck is? i have searched but cant find any technical details) and is now covered in soot which I am worried would increase the rate of corrosion? would soot increase corrosion? if so, why?

Can you email a picture of this to me? Why can't you just clean off the soot? My email is [email protected] Todd Miller

the soot can be cleaned on the flat, accesable areas but in the small corners and crevasses. soot contamination in these crevasses would increase the rate of corrosion because of the formation of HCL.
