I have a modified Aframe house to reroof. The aframe part is 18/12 pitch coming down and meeting a 5/12 pitch. How do i install a valley that will not leak? How do i make the peak of the 5/12 valleys go together with metal and have the 18/12 go over it? Thanks

The answer to Jim's email may determine whether I choose a metal roof or not.

The exact method of handling this will be determined by what type of product you choose. You will find that most metal roofing materials come with a full complement of trims and accessories including flashings for pitch changes. Todd Miller

As mentioned earlier, most metal roofing manufacturers offer accessories that are designed specifically for their products to handle these situations. If you're in an area that is prone to tree leaves, pine needles, ice, snow, I'd look for a valley system that carries all water on top of the roofing instead of in hidden channels beneath the roofing. These hidden channels might plug with debris. Todd Miller
