I am remodeling a small 800 sq ft home that has a hip roof I would like to have cathedral ceilings. I've been told that headers would have to be installed along all of the outer walls is this the only solution? This seems more like a construction and framing question than a metal roofing question, correct? Right off hand, I would say "yes" but this is way outside my area of expertise. I would suggest contacting the building inspector for your area -- they should be able to help you sort things out.
