A contractor wants to apply 26 gauge Acrylume metal roofing over architechural shingles. Says no need to remove the 6 year old shingles. The roof is undamaged. I can save about 3,000$ doing it this way. If I have to get on the roof will the fact that the undersrface is flexible (shingles) cause denting or undue slipperyness?
Thanks,
Cliff

It really depends on the profile of the roofing.
I would contact the manufacturer of the roofing and ask for their opinion based upon their testing and experience. If they are okay with this sort of installation, you need to also ask them what sort of underlayment they would like to see be used.
