My insurance company asked if my metal roofing was "pro panels". The roofing on my house is listed as vertical panels. Are these the same things? If not what are pro panels?

"Pro-Panel" I believe was originally a trade name used by a particular manufacturer to apply to one of their panel designs. The manufacturer was Metal Sales manufacturer and the panel was a fairly wide (36") panel made up of high ribs alternated with two lower ribs. This has also been called an "R" panel. It usually has exposed fasteners and the seams are just overlapped between panels, not interlocked. Sometimes there may be sealant at the seams. This contrasts with a true standing seam vertical seam metal roof which has concealed fasteners and an interlock of sorts between panels. Todd Miller
