Normally we see no need tp provide protection. One does need to ensure that rainwater does not run off the copper typically used in arresters onto the galvalume. If it is a new installation, the firm should be familiar. If it is retrofitting an existing system, we suggest to out clients that the metal roof be set off on strapping and the copper grounding cable run under the roof along a strapping. Galvanized metal strapps can then be bolted to the cable and slipped under a screw fastener from the roof. The arrester rods should be isolated from the galvalume with butyl and fastened with stainless screws and then painted.
