We just had a metal roof installed by the contractor 1 month ago. 2 weeks after, it rained and it leaked between the bathroom walls and also in the living room. 2 days ago, we still had the leaks when it rained. I suspect that it was installed wrongly. Please help me with the below: 1. J channels were installed on the roof of the first floor along the edges of the 2nd floor vinyl siding walls. It was caulked with "Dap" bathroom caulking. There were no end wall installed. 2. No preformed valley installed, instead, the end meets with j channels over existing valley. 3. What is the correct way to seal vents & pipes? 4. Instead of eves drip flashing at the end of the roof where it meets the gutter, J channel were installed. So how does the water run down into the gutter? Thank you so much

I really do not know exactly what type of metal roof you have had installed so I really cannot answer your questions with any authority. However, it sounds like many things were done wrong. I am sorry about that. I am hoping you know who manufactured the roof. Contact them and see what advice they can provide for how the roof should have been properly installed. If you wish, you can email pictures to me at [email protected] Todd Miller
