I am having a new house built with a 5V metal roof. We have a relatively long roof eave to ridge. I expected that each panel would be the full length eave to ridge, but have noticed that two pieces have been used to cover the span. Is this approach correct or is each panel supposed to be full length? My big concern is obviously keeping the elements out.

These panels can be successfully lapped. You may wish to contact the manufacturer of the roofing in order to get installation manuals and make sure that your panels are being lapped correctly. Todd Miller
