Hello, we are shopping around for a new metal roof and were informed by one salesperson that vertical panels compared to metal shingles expanded and moved many inches in very cold weather. We live in Montreal, Canada so we are wondering if this could cause a problem. Thank you.

Quality metal roofs typically have some sort of allowance built-in for expansion and contraction. This is less of an issue with smaller panel roofs. Todd Miller
