Are metal shake roofs actually individual pieces of metal shake like wooden shake or is it a big sheet (from ridge to overhang) like vertical panels that is made to look like individual pieces?

Most of the metal shakes come in "modular" panels which are installed from left to right on the roof, either from the bottom up or from the top down. Different products have different panel sizes but they may vary from 12" x 24" to 15" x 30". Each "module" will have several shake profiles pressed into it. Todd Miller
