Is there some sort of a paint or treatment I can put on a shiny metal roof that will bring back its life. It looks dingy old and tired but seems to be working fine. We had an inspection on it less than a year ago and there weren't any leaks but it's ugly.

I do not know of anything to do what you're asking for. The oxidation which occurs is difficult to remove. This roof, though, would be a good candidate for cleaning, primering, and painting with a quality finish.
