#1, you have to know the pitch of your roof and make sure that the type of metal roofing you choose is appropriate for that pitch of roof. Spend some time on this website learning the different types of metal roofing and their attributes and then make inquiries about the ones you like. Todd Miller

I am trying to find out about putting a metal roof over the top of my existing shingles on my double wide and over a porch at the same time. The pitch on the trailer is 4/12, so how high would I have to raise it so the metal roof doesn't leak? It will have a 22 foot span over one side of the double wide to extend over the porch as well.

With a 4:12 pitch, you can choose pretty much any metal roofing system profile that is made. There are many systems which cannot be used less than 3:12 but, at 4:12, you're pretty much good to go with anything. Todd Miller

You will need to find a materials supplier or contractor who will help you through that process. Todd Miller
