It has been suggested that stiations should be added to the 24 guage galvalume roof. Is this a good idea and what does stiations do to change the aesthetic beauty of a standing seam roof?

Waviness, aka "oilcanning," can occur in metal roofing panels due to stresses on the panels and also due to the chemistry of the metal itself. In some cases, the waviness is considered attractive and sought after. Putting striations in a panel is one way to minimize waviness but then you have the striations. Ask to go see some jobs that have been done with and without striations. Todd Miller
