Hi, I am installing a steel roof over my old existing shingle roof. In addition, I want to provide extra ventilation between the steel roofing and my existing roof. Can you explain the different types of eaves ventilation I can incorperate into my soon to be steel roof?
Thanks

There are many types of metal roofing systems and I will assume that you are installing a vertical ribbed panel. Of course we recommend contacting the manufacturer to get their recommendations and if you have a vaulted ceiling the building code has ventilation requirements of 1" mim vertical free air.
For the eave and the ridge, I would suggest using a profiled vented eaves closure strip. Thois seals it from bugs an ellements while providing good ventilation at a reasonable cost.

Hi Allan
I am looking for profiled vented eaves closure strip but have not been able to find any manufacturer or specification. Please let me know of any products that you are familiar with. Thanks
