I'm re-roofing my 7 year old 10,000 square foot home with Country Manor Shake Aluminum Roofing from Perfection. My existing tile roof has been constant headaches the 4 years we've owned the house. The plan is to pull off all the tile, battens, and existing underlayment to expose and inspect the roof decking. They will then put 30lb felt over the entire roof and then put Titanium UDL underlayment over the felt and then also put Titanium peel and stick over all valleys, vent pipe penetrations, roof transitions, and side walls. Do you think this will be sufficient to seal up the roof? It is very complex with alot of transitions. Thanks, Brian

Brian, That certainly is a substantial underlayment -- more than would normally be done and more than is required by the manufacturer. Please make sure that your roof meets the minimum pitch requirement for Country Manor Shake -- 3:12 (4:12 in snow areas). I am also assuming you have checked past references on the contractor -- gone to look at past jobs, talk to past customers, etc. Thanks for choosing a metal roof! Todd Miller

Thanks Todd. I live in Florida so I think the pitch is fine but will verify. I've looked at other jobs the contractor (Aluma-Tile) has done and talked to the customers. All were good reports. Brian
