I am a drafter for Copper Sales, Inc./ UNA-CLAD, although we currently have effective ways for forming flashing for multi-sided ridge cap applications, I am interested in researching possibly a more effective way. Something that looks good, is fabrication-friendly, and cost effective. What design of flashing would you use typically?

I am confused by yopur terminalogy. I believe you are talking about a trim that covers both "Ridge" and "Hip" applications. Next is we are an association and you have a couple fellow manufacturers answering the question but here goes. As we are focussed on residential roofing, most roofing systems must be tested and reviewed to the applicable building codes and carry a product approval report. If as example you are intending to use the product in high wind zones such as Florida or the Coastal Counties of Texas, then you must complete wind uplift and wind driven rain tests that include ridge ventilation systems and roof corner details. Hence it is up to the individual manufacturers engineers to develop the trim details that meet these needs first. Having said that, if you are interested then in improving the appearance of the trim, then you may need to look at a pressed product vs a formed product. We have a couple that we press form for other manufacturers. Check out iour site at www.duraloc.com or contact me at [email protected]
