We are trying to get pricing on metal roof for a round house with a connector and gambrel style garage. They are telling me that the cost is sky high due to the waste when using standing seam. (pie shaped roof sections) Would it not be more cost efficient then to use some of the metal shingles. The lumber yards don't seem to be aware of this product. Any suggestions?

Not a lot of materials adapt easy to a round roof and the configuration will generate more waste no matter what the product. I can say that our modular metal panels are fitted on theses types of roof by sectioning them out and putting hips in which cuts down on the waste however again the trim count will be higher. Choose the style you want and invest a little more now so that it is done for a lifetime.
