A friend fold me that the 29 guage metal roof my contractor has recomended is to light. It is made by Ideal Roofing in Ottawa, Canada. It will be used on a traditional barn type structure in CT I appreciate any good advive. Thanks

There are many facets to producing a quality metal roof. Metal thickness is just one of them and may be a lesser one at that. Other facets include the design of the product, the type of metal, the coating on it, and the manner in which it should be installed. 29 gauge is a lighter gauge but there are many panels made from that thickness of metal. I would ask the manufacturer for details on testing they have done. I would also ask to see past jobs, talk to past customers, etc. Todd Miller
