As an association we are limited in discussions on cost and warranty. This is however one of the most commonly asked questions and my typical response is that one needs to know what the cost of the shingle is. There are many levels of performance, profiles and systems in metal roofing. Shingle companies only make shingles and not accessories and only have really one type of system so it is like comparing 3 levels of theres to 100 in metal. Virtually impossible. The best is to get a quote from contractors on both systems and compare the features and benefits and weigh it against the lifecycle and you will see that there really is no comparisson.
