I am going to need to replace my roof soon, I live in Arizona and love the metal roof, is a metal roof an option in the desert? If so what type? Metal roofing works very well in desert areas, particularly because of some of the "cool" features which can help reduce a/c costs. As you have seen on this site, there is a huge variety of metal roofing products available, including different profiles, metals, and coatings. Generally, as with most things, you get what you pay for but you can find metal roofs from roughly double the cost of standard shingles to several times the cost.
