HI, MY NAME IS ROBYN, I AM WITH RSG CONSTRUCTION, INC. WE ARE LOCATED IN SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND. LAST YEAR WE INSTALLED A METAL ROOF DOWN THE CAPE AND WE ARE HAVING A COUPLE OF PROBLEMS AND WE ARE NOT SURE WHERE TO GO OR WHO TO TALK TO ABOUT THEM. OUR ROOF IS VERY LEAKY AND CAUSING WATER DAMAGE TO THE INSIDE WALLS. THE RAIN IS BLOWING UNDER THE FLASHING AND DRIPPING DOWN INTO THE OWNERS INTERIOR WALLS. WE NEED HELP ON HOW TO FIX THIS AND WHAT ACTIONS SHOULD WE TAKE.

Can you contact the manufacturer of the roofing? Either that or you will have to hire someone experienced in metal roofing in your area to come look at it. If you wish, email me pictures, but there are probably limits to how much help I can be long distance. Todd Miller [email protected] Todd Miller

Thanks for getting back to me. I wish I knew the company but this was a labor only job, materials were supplied. Not our choice of materials. Attached are the pictures of where we are getting leaks. Hopefully this can help. Thanks again for the reply. Robyn

Robyn, I would really like to talk on the phone so that I can ask you some additional questions. Is there any chance you could call me at my office? 1-800-543-8938 ext 201 Todd Miller

I read your roof complaint with considerable interest. We have a metal roof on our home, like $14,000 worth, which is leaking similar to your situation. We have sustained considerable damage to our interior walls. The home is located on the southern shore of Lake Erie. In the last 1.5 months, we have had two very serious, sustaining Northeasters. We are a direct hit with these storms. The rain blows UP for hours and hours. I have yet to contact the manufacturer with this complaint because I wanted to have amunuition if this is a manufacturing defect. Our product is ATAS from Allentown, PA and the style is one that resembles a red clay tile roof...I forget the actual name at the moment. We are in big, big touble. How did your conversation go with the "expert?" Please advise....we are very interested. Thank you Pamela Holt [email protected]

ATAS manufactures three types of tile roofing; a vertical sheet called Techo tile and a horizintal sheet tile call Scan which are offered in painted and a granular modular tile called Granutile. They are a member of our association and their products are well tested, so I would first be looking at the workmaship. ATAS should readily be able to help (remember you catch more flies with honey)in identifying the problem and if it is workmanship they can help encourage corrective action wil the contractor. No one wants a roof that does not live up to expectations.
