There is a chimney for a 80 year old house with a metal roof that has been cut off at the attic ceiling and roofed over. I am going to cut a new hole in the metal roof and raise the chimney about 3 feet. I would appreciate any helpful advice on installing metal flashing that will be attached to the chimney and the old roof.

This really depens a lot on the configuration of the metal roofing panel. Generally, though, this is not an easy thing to do. It would be best to remove the roof panels in this area and re-install them when this work is done.
Email me photos of the roof if you like.
