Are there any special concerns when using spray foam insulation on the underside of the roof with respect to metal roofing. Typically the spray foam insulation attic does not have vents.

I am not aware of any special concerns. This is called "hot roof" construction and provided you can use vapor barrier above the ceilings, a good foam job, and a good roof installation, it can be successful.
