We are on East Coast of Florida and trying to determine which is better.
We are getting 24 guage 5 v crimp, color: galvanized finish.
I was looking for differences between galalume plus and acrylume. Do you know of any comparisons available or benefits/drawbacks?

Galvalume is steel coated with an aluminum-zinc alloy. Generally, when it is sold without a colored paint finish, it does have a clear acrylic coating on it. Acrylume is a trade name for galvalume with a clear acrylic finish on it.
If you wish, email direct to me and I will send you my company's Guide to Residential Metal Roofing. I think you find it to be of interest.

We are building a small house with a 12:12 pitch roof in Western North Carolina. We plan to use a dark green, standing seam panel. I have been told to look for a product with a Kynar coating and to avoid an "S-P" (silicone-polyester?) coating. Can you comment as to the pros and cons of the various coatings?

There are many choices when it comes to finishes. The Kynar / Hylar coatings though are widely recognized as top of the line for their fade and chalk resistance. Particularly in very vibrant colors, it will help in terms of appearance over the long run.

We are trying to seek approval for our new metal Acrylume roof for our Miami home in our homeowner's association. One neighbor is publishing letters telling neighbors this will reduce their homes' values. Our house is a Key West style and we are hoping to convince them to allow us to put on this standing seam style roof. We hope to convince them of not only it's beauty but also the endurance in this hurricane-prone area, as well as energy and insurance savings.

The Metal Construction Association and Metal Roofing Alliance would be able to provide support with a presentation to your HOA if that is helpful. Contact me if so. [email protected]
