I have heard that aluminum and steel will react with each other. I have aluminum sidding a want a steel roof. Is this a problem? What about aluminum touching massonary/

This can be a problem but keep in mind that what you are talking about will likely be painted galvanized or painted galvalume in contact with painted aluminum. The metallic and paint coatings act as insulators to separate the dissimilar metals. I would suggest trying to separate the materials with an additional coating or underlayment but, except in real corrosive environments, the risk is minimal. The same goes for masonry.
