Where do I procure eave barriers that prevent a section of snow from coming down in one piece once the weight of the snow exceeds the friction between itself and the roof. These are quite common on commercial buildings.

Most metal manufacturers either supply or have recomendations. There is an issue of calculating the correct placement and quantity. As well some systems need to float on the roof, so you need a self adhesive strip. I would contact the manufacturer. If you can not identify, then contact one of our member manufacturers that make a similar profile and maybe they can help you out.
