You do need a pitch change flashing. The exact configuration depends upon what profile of metal you are installing. The manufacturer should be able to provide this part ar at least details on how it should be formed. Generally, the flashing extends up under the higher roof and comes out on top of the lower roof. It is critical that it be located properly so as to not create a negative pitch on the top of the flashing.

We are doing an old home addition. The new porch can be framed with a1 1/2/ 12 pitch. Is this acceptable for the metal roofing. I may be able to cut back the trim on the bottom of the windows that tie into the roof flashing. Or I could make the ceiling height of the lowest point of the roof lower. But would prefer not losing height if possible. Please give your opinion. Thanks.

Every metal roof will have a required minimum pitch. Many of the residential systems require a 3:12 pitch. Some of the more commercial / industrial systems can be used as low as 1/4:12.

Sorry, that is not what we are here for, just to answer technical questions. Your local lumber supplier should be able to help you.
