I had a "friend" install a metal roof this summer. He opened up my old roof at the ridge to vent out my attic better. Now with the frist snow fall, I'm getting snow on my attic. Am I missing something?. Friend isn't returning calls!

A proper ridge vent includes either flashing or a filter material to prevent this. It sounds like you do not have either of those. First, I would contect the manufacturer of the roofing and get their advice for ridge vent. You might also check out www.profilevent.com for some insight.
