I am concerned about the impact a metal roof will have on my ham radio antennas mounted on my chimney...if any

I see your post is a few years old so I hope you have received an answer either by word or by trial. I would think the antenna on chimney would require experimentmentation to determine functionality. However, I do know that a wire antenna too close to the metal roof will cause a change in radio signal. But for me, other considerations take precedent assuming proper reception. How do I get the antenna up or down (for repars) without "foot" damage to the roof. Will the coax used be insulated (standoffs)from the roof/ Or will it be run through the roof, ceiling, to shack, thus requiring continual checking for leaks? Other considerations ...Easy solution... a more suitable location.
