My 2200 sq ft shake roof has succumed to moss and cracking after 25 years. A contractor friend recommended metal, but specified standing seam, which appears to be about a third again as expensive other vertical metal, installed. ($17,000 over $12,000). I notice that your info doesn't mention standing seam. Any observations?

Standing seam is grouped into the classification of vertical panels on our website. Most of our members who produce vertical panels produce standing seam. Many also produce the through-fastened "corruagted" sheets of metal roofing.

Is there a difference between 5 V and standing seam.
Another question I am having a metal roof done and called roofer to ask who the manufacturer was and they informed millenium metal. I looked under your listing and they are not listed. Do you know anything about there product. What other questions should I ask. Thanking you in advance

Angela -- 5V is a through-fastened (exposed fasteners) "sheet" roofing. Standing Seam usually refers to a system with concealed fasteners which often also is installed on clips to allow for expansion and contraction.
I have heard of Millennium but do not know anything about them. Sorry. Inquire whether their products meet the Metal Construction Association Certified Roofing Panel requirements. If not, or if they do not know, look for a different manufacturer.
