I have an estimate for a metal roof of $2000 for cat.26gauge,vertical roofing. I was told they would screw the roofing to former roof. A different contractor told me that a rubber tip is placed between the roof & screw. If screw is not covered this rubber tip will deteriorate & cause leakage. Is this how a metal roof is done. My estimate is for under 1100 sq ft. classic styling not self standing roof. Please advise how the roofing can be done without causing leaks in future.
