I am interested in getting a standing seam metal roof put on our contemporary home, it has 5 skylights. I live in southern NY, is there any reason why it would be a problem. I have heard from people its not a good idea, but I see photos of home with skylights and metal roofs on roofing sites.

This is really not a problem. Look for an experienced installer but, other than that, skylights are pretty standard stuff. Thanks for choosing metal! Todd Miller

I would agree. A qualified installer/sheet mech. can work through about any situation you can think of. On the other hand, installed by the wrong person, skylights can be a nightmare come true for a home owner, no matter what the roofing material. Choose a qualified installer with a reputable company and you will, mostlikely have a wonderful roof that will last for ever. Thanks, Scotty B./Jess' Quality Roofing
