I have a red pro panel roof that was installed in 1982. I want to put a ridge vent on it and I can't find one that will fit because i am told it is the old style of pro panel and they don't make one any more. The house just has a ridge cap on it at this time and no vent except what escapes through the ridge cap Any suggestions? Thanks

Have you tried contacting experienced installers and even manufacturers of through-fastened metal roofing materials? That is a bit outside my expertise but surely someone can help you!

I have contacted the local distributer, who contacted his distributer who said they don't make something that fits now. I don't want to change the whole roof to get a ridge vent, it seem someone has a retro fit. I can't find it though. Thanks

Check out www.profilevent.com and see if they have a profiled strip to match your roof. If they do, then it may be a matter of getting their strip and having someone local bend a ridge cap to go over it. I cannot stress enough the importance of having an experienced metal roofing contractor involved to help.
