Hi,
I live in north California. My house is built around 1950 and it's range style. I'm looking into replacing my roof which has one layer of wood sake and another layer or two (at some place) over of asphalt or composition single.
The house has no intake ventalize and only three/four out take vents/window from the atic.
One of the roofing company proposed to put the metal roof over the existing roofs. After pointed out the problem with ventalization of the roof and actic, He told me that with the metal, I don't need to have any ventalizing install.
Please advice. Is it a right way of having metal roof install over another two or three layers? Is it correct as the contractor said that there no ventalizing system needed for the metal roof when it install over existing roof or by itself?
Thank you in advance for your help.
