I have build my 1st home with a metal roof and we are experiencing significant condensation problems in the cold season. The house is at 6800 ft with a open beam ceiling. The t&g is screwed to the top of the beams, then 30# tar paper, then 4" thick4'x8' hard board insulation (a Iso product), then 2x4's screwed horizontally(perlins) and then the metal is screwed to the horizontal perlins. Is this a proper design, adaquate ventilation or ? What would you recommend for a proper fix with in the industry. I assume the moisture is coming from inside the home but I am lost at how to fix the problem without removing the "entire" roof down to the t&g decking.
