I am installing a vertical panel steel roof over the existing shingles on my double wide mobl home on a full basement. As the middle section of the house has a vaulted cieling . I am going to use 1 by 3 inch nailers (battens) run horizontaly under the new steel.
This site has said the air space should be one inch thick, as a one inch board is actualy 3/4 inch is this A thick enough space?
Also should roofing felt be istalled between the battens and the steel.
The steel is by Midwest Manufacturing.

The first thing you should do is contact the manufacturer and get their recommendations. Having said that the code calls for a minimum of 1" unobstructed which means you need to strap vertically first over the structural supports and then install your horizontal strappig. And yes you are required to install an underlayment over the existing roof first.
