I live in Toronto with a long cold winter. I need a new roof & am considering whether we should get aluminum shingles. I read about how such roof is great for keeping the roof cooler in hot places like Florida. But I am wondering about the insulating effect & temperature difference in an aluminum roof during the cold winter. I appreciate any technical explanation of the advantages & disadvantages of aluminum shingles in cold climates. (I've read how it's light weight and sheds snow fast---that's good!)
It'll be great if you can email me your response. Thank you very much.
